Released and promoted as a double A side, “Still I’m Sad” appears to be the side most remember and prefer. And it was an extraordinary song too with the band creating a gloomy sounding Gregorian chant – with help from manager/producer Giorgio Gomelsky providing the lower bass notes. There was quite simply no pop single like this before.
“Evil Hearted You” is much lighter by contrast though a mid paced moody rocker with a nice compact Jeff Beck solo. The Yardbirds were showing the way forward and what could be done with the 45 single.
Jagwar Ma are a duo from Sydney that are making tongues wag in the music industry right now. With only two previous releases, ‘Come Save Me‘ their breakout hit, they already have everyone salivating for their debut album release which should be sometime this year.
